We ♥ Universal Studios

Looking back at the last “midterm” holiday of my life that I spent with my family in Los Angeles,USA, I wondered I should probably share with you the great and unique experience we had at the Universal Studio. As my little sister was around, we thought that visiting a theme park in L.A was a MUST and that it would be entertaining both for her and for us, the old ones :p The West Coast is known worldwide as a capital of entertainment and fame. Therefore, there is no wonder why there are so many theme parks in the area: Disneyland, the Pacific Aquarium, the Zoo, Magic Mountain and more… However, all the theme parks I have had the chance to visit and enjoy do not reach the level of the Universal Studios in Hollywood. This theme park combines both fun and entertainments, and cinema culture which suits any age’s expectations.

Universal Studio EntranceBefore getting there, you have to go through a mental and physical preparation process. Below is the list of the LYA recommendations for a day at the Universal Studios:

  • Dress up appropriately: a good pair of sneakers is recommended
  • Take your camera
  • A pack of Aspirins (the day is quite emotional and packed so you might face a headache)
  • Go online to check if there are any special entertainment or events during the period you are planning to visit the park
  • You can access the park both by car (huge parkings available, American style) and shuttle

100_5152LYA had the unique and amazing opportunity to visit the Universal Studios with the VIP tour, which gives you so many advantages. If you have a chance to be part of this star experience, LYA definitely recommends it. This special tour will take you “behind the scenes” and will give you a large range of benefits and a highly personalised service as well:

  • Welcomed in a VIP lounge while waiting for your guide
  • Welcome “VIP KIT”
  • Food and drinks available while you wait
  • No queuing in any attraction
  • Access to extra amusement centres and areas of the park
  • More detailed information about the studios

IMG_4178The whole VIP tour started at 1:30 PM and ended around 8:00 PM, it was a loooonnnggg day, but so WORTH IT. The day was divided in 2 with a “fun” part in the theme park and a more cultural part in the studios. The presence of a guide definitely makes a difference and the fact that we were a small group adds so much more fun to the experience. You get to know people who came from all over the world and enjoy a unique day with them. I will remember this tour forever and would die to go back there! I really want to go again for the Halloween special event in the park which includes zombies and fright haha :p LYA’s favourite moments were:

  • Wisteria Lane from the Desperate Housewives show
  • The Bates Motel from Psycho
  • The Transformers ride: in 3D, so realistic, adrenaline rush guaranteed
  • The House of Horrors: I almost died out of fear, exceptionally scary
  • The Simpsons Ride
